LOLITA [03.19.10]

Lolita is a fashion subculture originating in Japan that is influenced by Victorian clothing with undertones of Gothic fashion mixed in. No one really knows when exactly the movement started but it likely started in the 70’s when famous labels including Pink House and Angelic Pretty began selling clothes that you might call ‘Lolita’ today. Over time Lolita fashion became popular through bands such as Malice Mizer. The word Lolita, though often associated with the novel by Vladimir Nabokov, actually has nothing to do with sex. In fact those with partake in the Lolita movement often prefer to look ‘beautiful’ or ‘cute’ rather than ‘sexy’. The irony of the name is that the fashion was created to fight the growing exposure of the body and skin in today's society. It is often assumed that girls who dress in Lolita follow a Lolita 'lifestyle' where they try to emulate the mannerisms and etiquette of the Victorian era. Although some do choose the Lolita lifestyle, some just really enjoy wearing the clothes for fun. As for the majority of Lolita, it is simply a style or a statement of modesty. Hurray for modesty!

Music Sect [02.22.10 - 03.05.10]

Elva Hsiao and Show Lou came out with Wow recently and it’s damn good, great beat, nice rhythm. It’s catchy too, a friend of mine couldn’t stop dancing to it for awhile.

Clazziquai also came out with a goody, Ping, the song’s very nice and it’s techno feel is welcoming to our ears. It seems Tell Yourself has brought on a new leaf for the group.

One Way is a new and upcoming boy band, that yes, is a bit too similar to Big Bang, but they have their own style as well. They’re to debut March 6 at Music Core and we wish them the best of luck.

They also did a cover of Tae Yang’s Look Only At Me, it does show the main vocalist[s] similarities to Tae Yang’s voice as well as the rapper’s . The members are Chance, Peter and Young Sky. We wish them well.

KARA’s Lupin is just as popular as any other single coming from the cute girl band. The video may feature the overused concept of black and white back drops with contrasting outfits but that doesn’t matter [though it bugged me], the songs pretty catchy.

What else is there to cover I’m not sure. Oh well we could talk about othe news in the music world like…

Some sad news we read in the music world last and this week was the our favorite Park Jeabeom won’t be returning to 2PM, as planned last week. Too much had happened for him to return. In response to this a couple of fan clubs have shown their distastes of the situation very clearly by stand outside of JYPE in protest, as well as bombarding Teacyeon and Wooyoung with dumbass messages, and it seems they’re being targeted because they’re the most active by far in the group. We feel upset too, but it’s not the members faults guys, in fact they wanted him to come back as well, this was all Jay’s idea. JYPE also sent out a letter explaining it all, but I think that may have caused a bit more trouble than helping matters. But we just thought we’d let Jay know we’ll always support him in no matter what he decides to do.

Now songs that you should add to your music list from Asia:

2NE1—Try To Follow [Copy] Me

One Way—Magic

2PM— Tired Of Waiting

Clazziquai Project—Ping

Elva Hsiao—Wow ft. Show Lou

KARA—Lupin

Some song’s that should’ve been in your playlist awhile ago from Asia:

Wonder Girls—Nobody

Tae Yang—Sinners

Fading Star—Wheesung

Picks—Guan Yu Wo Men (About Us)

BoA—Bump Bump

Top 10 Dramas Domioku’s Watched [Until 2009] {03.05.10}

All’s opinionated and I am sorry if a star reads this and is mad they didn’t make top five, I will be adding the second half of the list inside, the front page is just for those who made the top five. Ikuyo!

One: Black & White [Bottom Right], starring Vic Zhuo, Mark Zhao, and Ivy Chen. The story as you can read on streaming sites featuring it on their playlists, it’s about two cops as different as yin and yang, they end up trying to work together to solve a giant case, only to find out one of them is linked to the triads. The story has many plot twist, I think it should get an award for it. It had me on the edge of my seat tons of time, it had engrossed through out the whole series. Second to top of my must watch list.

Two: Autumn’s Concerto, it was about two, I believe destined lovers, who started out great then went through trial that forced them to separate; the couple is Van Ness Wu, and Ady An, do you need to hear more? But anyway they end separating, and Van Ness ends up with memory loss, forgetting all about Ady, and it’s sol sad. To top if off Ady’s got a kid, and is it his? It’s on my must watch list.

Three: Why Why Love this one also stars Rainie, Mike, and Kingone just like Devil Beside You, they even play similar roles but Rainie’s role is different., just a bit. Must watch.

Are you seeing a pattern, top fives are a must watch.

Four: It’s a Taiwanese drama, I think I watched this before Devil Beside You. Raine, Kingone, and Mike are just a wonderland not to be tampered with. The story as I’ve written before is about a girl, Rainie, who’s mom falls in the love with the school’s head person, who turns out to be Mike’s dad. And Mike plays the school’s bad ass, while Kingone is stuck as the aspiring basketball player, with romance troubles. In the beginning, Kingone and Raine like each other, but then out of nowhere Mike likes her too, then they get together only to face so much trouble. Sigh, so going to watch again, you should watch too.

Five: Shining Inheritance, a Korean dram; it’s similar to Cinderella save the magical rodents and musical numbers. It’s pretty modern day, but this time Cinderella started off rich, then went poor only to find herself unable to fend for herself and autistic little brother. She gets troubled by a rich boy and he causes even more trouble for her, and all of it’s over a bag that they both happened to had and got mixed up. Aigoo! In the end they begin to fall for one another despite the ones that currently love them.

Six: Pasta [left] is a Korean drama that actually came out a few weeks ago and is already on episode 15 and 16. It comes on twice a week so that’s twice the goodness; I’m not gonna go into depth since I go into to the right, but just know if you’re bored and wanna go outside the box of Taiwan or Japan, try this. And it features a familiar face besides Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Sun Gyun, it’s got Clazziquai’s male vocalist Alex, as a male co-lead actor. Wow, who knew he could act.

Seven: Remember that manga Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi no Henge [bottom right] , that turned into a anime well now it’s a drama staring the always cute Kamenashi Kazuya, who also stared in the manga to drama One Pound Gospel.

Eight: Down With Love [bottom left], another drama from Taiwan with the main actors being Ella Chen, Jerry Yan, and Michael Zhang. Are those familiar faces or what. It’s pretty good and on it’s fourth episode definitely a need to see.

Nine: Hi My Sweetheart , I’ve already mentioned this drama about three times so I don't’ think I need to say more all you need to know is that it made top ten, and you need to go see it if you still haven’t.

Ten: Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy [bottom], ever watch Gokusen, drama or aniem is fine, if you’ve seen that then you’ll be shocked by this one. The teacher has no relations to the mafia, she’s pretty down to earth, all she wants to be is a teacher at the school she once caused trouble for. As she accomplishes this goal she falls for one of her students. It’s a good used storyline done with some improvement.

Now go watch some dramas.

Autumn’s Concerto & Hi My Sweetheart [01.29.10]

So lately I’ve been dabbling a little further into the Asian drama world and I found Hi My Sweetheart [Right] and Autumn’s Concerto [Bottom Left]. Both are quite interesting and worthy of watching.

Hi My Sweetheart features the three very famous Rainie Yang, Alan [Show] Lou, and Lee Wei; all three make a superstar cast equal to Rainie, Kingone, and Mike from Why Why Love, and Devil Beside You.

The drama’s about a mean, rich woman, named Bao Chu Jie [Rainie], and a rich boy going to college away from home [Alan (Show)], while using a false name, modeled after his favorite show, Pink Panther.

The two go through many trials including fire rescues, and amnesia, as well as other life threatening instances.

The final episode is to come out next week supposedly, hopefully the fansubbers can keep up the good work and bring the drama to the people on time.

Autumn’s Concerto, stars the ever handsome [and damn sexy], Van Ness Wu [sigh], and Ady An.

The story fro this one is a bit similar; Van Ness, plays a law student who falls in love with the poor girl, Ady An, who’s being abused and harassed by her father. He defends her in a case and begins to fall even harder for her, so hard he got into an accident, then the usual ‘you leave my son alone, for this amount of money’ conversation comes up initiated by Van Ness’s mom. He chases her until he’s left out of breath crying as she leaves, only to be stabbed. Damn I know.

That was only the beginning the story progresses even further, and gets even more twisted up.

The eighteenth episode is to be released next week as well. So if you’re bored and wanna try something new, YouTube these dramas.

God Of War III [01.29.10]

Oh hell yeahs, the demo is finally out, no I’m not lying it is really out with a reservation of the game at GameStop. If you don’t preorder you ain’t getting’ it, that’s all there is to it.

It was [pardon my language] fuckin’ gorgeous, I was hyperventilating so much my gaming buddy had to take the controller away from me and play it for me [I know I’m a huge dork].

The graphics were amazing as usual, the game play even better than before, you start of in the game owning all of your previous possessions [I believe], and you immediately confront Helios and his minions as one the titans terrorizes the city for you.

The detail of blood, and muscle ripples on Kratos were just superb. I don’t even know why I’m trying the mention the demo, when the whole gaming world knows the game will bring tears to everyone’s eyes from its beauty.

All I have to say fro the game is this, I don't’ even need to do this, just wait till March 16 [2010], when it comes out and you'll see it earned the 5/5 it’s going to get on X-Play, and IGN.

If you haven’t already preordered do so now, or buy it as soon as it comes out.

[Package Art Not Final]

*This articles pics were found off of Bing*

Some bonus news is that the creators want to keep the franchise going by creating more games in Kratos’ name. I personally don’t know if it’s a good idea but the people seems to want it. Good Luck

Remember March 16;

GET IT

Cartoon Network Just Keeps Degrading [01.29.10]

Been leaving your once favorite channel alone for awhile? No worries you’re not the only one, me and the SLC staff have been as well; lately the channel seems to be lacking what it had back in the day.

We feel it’s only a matter of time before it’s strictly for little children, they’ve lost quite a few of there older viewers, most of them transferring over to late night [Adult Swim], or just plain not watching their channel.

Looking back, it’s apparent this was bound to happen, when Toonami was taken off the set list. The loss, took quite a chunk out of their viewer ratings. Another hit was when most of the old cartoons normally shown were replaced with childish cartoons the resembled SpongeBob Squarepants in different arts and plot lines. Take for example The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, it was an on land version of the Nickelodeon show. Or the overly food related Chowder, is another show that fails to gain our interest. Even the continuation of those childhood shows, Pokémon, and Yu-Gi-Oh, should’ve ended a long time ago.

What was going through the CN network execs mind. Eh?

An even sadder attempt to improve themselves was the moment they decide to include CN Real, reality tv, on Cartoon Network. Straying from the ’toon’ theme didn’t do anything but create more chaos for them as well as the fans.

We have no idea what there planning next, though they do have a new show coming up very soon, we hope they’ll stop and back track a bit—it just ain’t the same anymore, and we’re not liking it. They’ve already let Naruto Shippudden go to Disney XD [though not many people will be watching that either].

Give us back out Toonami, that’s all SLC wants.

Oh Miss Bayonetta [01.29.10]

I’m sure you’re all aware of the game Bayonetta’s release date [January 8], yeah it was awhile ago, but a friend of ours decided to pick it up, so we took the opportunity to go try it out as well.

To be honest I didn’t expect to like the game very much, but some of its qualities made it bearable, so to speak.

For starters it feels like a Devil May Cry, which isn’t bad if you’re into the genre and feel of games. It has some better points don’t worry. The combat for one is amazing as long as you don't mind seeing a woman in a skimpy suit from time to time, since the suit is her hair. It features nice combos, and abilities that never fail to keep you entertained. She can also pick up defeated enemies’ weapons, nice right? The boss battles are also something to smile at.

The story on the other hand is pretty simple if you look at it, as evil versus good, you being the evil. We (I) didn’t get it; it confused the hell out of us (me). It felt too long and a bit too detailed to some us, while our buddy felt it was fantastic all around. I’m not sure if you’d understand it but I thought I’d just le t you know the game let’s you ski[ the cut scenes, that’s what we did the second go round and it didn’t feel any different from the first game.

What other good points are there, if good game play, and graphics aren’t enough? We didn’t see any, except it was an all around crazy ass game, the kept you trying to execute torture attacks, and initiating witch time while attacking foes.

The bad side is that it has one of the worst soundtracks we’ve ever heard; J-pop fanatics that we are we couldn’t even bare the ‘J-Pop’ featured in the game. The only plus side to it, is the fact that you can turn it off. Trust us you’ll want to do that.
Another down point to the game is that almost everything in the game feels like a sexual euphemism. The hardest level after beating it twice [Normal and Hard] is ‘Non-Stop Climax’, eh, does that not get your mind in the gutter? Even better the final/strongest attack is called the ‘Climax’, which involves her hair, that served as her clothes, completely uncovering everything but her candy jar goodies. [This was a feature I didn’t like, but that can’t be helped.] Even her normal walk is that of not even sultry, more like tramp-ish, though many have tried to defend saying she walks ‘with model grace’, chyeah right! It annoyed me so much I refused to walk in the game. When doing certain actins in the game she’ll even pose like a photo shoot for ya’, I don’t know but this little tidbit also set me off. It may be rated M for Mature [17+], but seriously.

Don’t get the wrong idea [girls], the game is wicked fun, just has a few annoying qualities. The game will definitely bring a smile to your face. The combats crazy, the puzzles, it will keep anyone in their seat for a good minute, it’s great game all around, so if you don’t mind ‘partial’ nudity, English accents, girl fights, crazy gore with sexual themes. Go buy it, it’s worth it [a lot of other groups rated it from 5/5 to 9/10], but if you're like me, you’ll probably rent it, beat it, earn all the achievements, then send it back.

Random Spot: Great Things Thus Far [01.04.10]

Well to put it simply SLC banned together to list some of the stuff we’ve seen or heard and liked on the job. Yeah that’s it, don’t read if you don’t wanna know about it. They’re not listed in any particular order.

So Nyeo Shi Dae’s [Girls’ Generation’s] song ‘Chocolate Love’ that severed as an endorsement deal as well as a music video; I’d buy the phone.

2NE1’s CL and Minzy/Minji and their song ‘Please Don’t Go’; it is pretty catchy.

Do You Want To Try, a very cute and entertaining manwha [Korean comic]. Has a bit of romance, and drama, mainly for girls-sorry.

Assassin’s Creed II, which was beautiful by the way; the game blows it’s predecessor out of the water, the story’s even more-you go play it, I don’t have enough room.

Vampire Effect, we know it’s an oldy, but we were watchin’ it again and couldn’t help but list as one of the greatest things thus far, go see it! It’s hilarious, and has decent fight scenes.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, yes whatever we’re late, who cares we replayed, and re-finished it. It’s the god-doggone Game of the Year, how could it not be great.

Next Gen Walkthroughs Assassin’s Creed II commentary; one word hilarious.

The PSPgo, is soo damn gorgeous. It does have a downside, you have to move your memory, which is to be expected but you have to re-purchase all UMDs owed, so that they may be digital on the PSPgo. Oh well.

SLC Best of 2009/08 Issue, come one now, how in the world would that not make it?

WTF IS BŌSŌZOKU, YOU DON’T ASK?

The whole idea behind the bōsōzoku look is to be tough and thuggish. In many ways it is similar to America’s gangster/ghetto scene. The stereotypical bōsōzoku look is often portrayed, in many Japanese anime, manga and films. The typical bōsōzoku member is often depicted in a uniform consisting of a jumpsuit like those worn by manual laborers or a type of military issued over-coat with kanji slogans usually worn open with no shirt underneath showing off their bandaged torsos and matching baggy pants tucked inside tall boots.

A good example of an anime character with bōsōzoku styling is Kuwabara [left] from the anime Yu Yu Hakusho. The character is meant to look like one of Tokyo’s Yakuza members in order to give of the vibe of danger and rebelliousness. That’s why the bōsōzoku style is so popular among teenagers in Japan.

INTERVIEW WITH TAFSINGZ

Though we know good and well she’s not well known we decided to ask her some questions. We sat down, better yet emailed the questions, since we really couldn’t’ sit down with her—but her answers were just so pure it felt as if we were face to face. If you don’t feel like reading the interview you can always listen to it, she answered our question via webcam, though she didn’t show her face. [We did cut some things out, for all and no paraphrasing watch the videos.]

Q] What got you started?

A] What got me started… besides friendly encouragement? I can’t really say, but if I had to put in words at least understandable to man, it’s be anime [We wanted to interrupt, but she elaborated on her own]. I think hearing one of the shows ending them—yes it was Trigun’s ‘Sound R.E.M.’ I tried to sing the song and I was horrible, but then again the song was full of high notes and I didn't have very good range then. From there in moved into the J-Pop realm entirely starting with Crystal Kay, then BoA, and now I have a hefty collection. After j-Pop I was introduced to the Chinese version of pop, and just recently I’ve tapped into the K-Pop universe.

Q] What do you think of music today in that genre, and would you sing any of it?

A] What do I think of music today—I don’t. It’s gone in such a direction I don’t think I could ever like or want to sing it. It’s become so vulgar, and degrading it’s not ignorable anymore. I used to try and block out the lyrics so that I could enjoy the beats in the background but I can’t even do that. I almost—no I’m pretty sure I hate it. I wish that we could go back to when it wasn’t about gettin’ some, or somebody, and not about how much junk you can buy/get. Musicians in the Pop, Rap, and R&B genre should go sit down and listen to the classics so they can either become similar—not the same similar, or better. I think before 2003 or so music was fine, it wasn’t that bad. Now the industry thrives on the ‘sex sells’ approach when it may for some, but not for most. Everything’s just changed so much and I don’t know what to do about it. All I can do is rant and hope it changes or wait till I’m discovered and change it myself, not that that’s my top priority; I don’t mind being just the way I am un-famous.

Q] Do you ever plan to show your face [This answer wasn’t done via webcam but through email]?

A] To be honest I want to, but there are circumstances that prevent that from happening, and I’m also scared of what might happen if I were to show my face. Maybe in the near future I’ll do it, but for right I have no immediate plans to show it. Gomene minna, but I will remain a secret for now.

TAF also wanted to say “Thank you for all the channel and video views it makes me feel better that I didn’t give in to peer pressure for no reason. To the fans Saranghae, I really due.”

Thank you TAF for mentioning us in your videos in fact we should make a deal, you mention us, and we’ll mention you.

SO WHAT HAPPENS IN ‘THE LAND OF THE RISING [12.19.09]

When you think Japan the first things to come to mind may be the music or the history but if you don’t thing about the awesome nightlife then you probably don’t know about ‘Womb’ [left]. It was recently voted one of the top nightclubs in the world by djmag magazine, but Womb is not the only great club to hit up in Tokyo. When the sun goes down the city comes to life with thousands of club goers every night.

Most clubs feature a simple light show and dj booth but some of the more popular clubs in the city such as Liquid Room [right] go above and beyond the normal for the entertainment of their guests. Liquid Room offers a large variety of live performances as well as a glorious view of the city skyline. From teeny bopper clubs to the shadier gothic themed clubs every genre of music and lifestyle can be found out on the streets of Tokyo.

KRATOS’ INFERNO [12.19.09]

Sorry to say Dante’s Inferno may be feature the nine circles of hell, but it looks as if Kratos [from the God of War Trilogy] is doing the circling; the graphics too resemble that of the God of War game. To put it simple-like ‘It’s too damn similar’. To be honest it looks as if the creators of God of War took over EA and dictated their every action or worse they copied.

Dante’s Inferno’s main character’s breakdown or makeup is almost exactly [though I want to say exactly] like that of Kratos. The combat, of heavy and mild attacks, the stance and stature are too alike to call it as not of Kratos’. The resemblance is a little too much, even the way he runs looks like Kratos an bit. UGH!

The scenery or background, even share similarities; in the demo there’s a scene where you’re supposed ot fight some flying beast while on fragile ground, it made me feel like I was doing a Kratos vs. Harpies scene. Another similarity is the way the environment moves or breaks to get you to the next area-I’ll let you guess, yes that too was alike.

The only differences noticeable to me the fact that whoever EA teamed up with for the game, they pride themselves on their mini-bosses to further the story along, where as God of War didn’t so much; but the min-bosses could be a downfall as well, for people who detest mini-bosses and deem them a waste of time.

Personally I’m going to play the game despite all that I said, I’m curios to see how far the similarity goes. I also can’t really rate since I’ve only played the demo. If and once I get the game I’ll give a full report.

What to do when it comes out? RENT IT, unless you want Kratos in a crusader costume.

Sorry Dante’s Inferno, I just hope you're not a trilogy….

NARUTO ON DISNEY XD?

So I'm at a loss for words, and I'm sure I'm dreaming. Naruto: Shipudden on Disney XD, the former Toon Disney, I honestly don't know what they were thinking when they made that move, but then again I had the same thought when they took One Piece, off as well as ridding Cartoon Network of Toonami, and all it's anime.

Damn what are the networks thinking. I need to run a damn tv channel.

                                                                                   -Domiku

FAIRY TAIL IS AN ANIME NOW?

Uh yes, it is! So far it seems to be following the manga pretty well, though we did have some complaints about the color of Lucy's tat, but that was a personal thing, it suits her character well. There's no downside to the series unless you really hated the manga series to begin with. We give it a five out of five since the characters carry most of themselves from the manga onto the animation boards fantastically—everything the same, no story skips, no additives. We think the readers should take a peek. SLC ensures it's the five out of five we gave it. [If you disagree tell us why.]

TEA YANG [12.01.09]

Look at how fine this boy, I mean man is. Oh my lard, I’m drooling.

Besides his good looks, he’s got a great voice and an even greater moves, to help keep that sexy body in shape.

The real reason why’s he’s in here to day is because of his recent album [that I accidentally forgot about], and song Where U At.

It’s includes the single ‘Where U At’ of course; it has ‘Prayer’, and ‘Wedding Dress’ as well. The last two are just as good as the single. If you have iTunes or means to 4Shared or MP3Raid.com, I suggest you get the typing away to download [and/or buy], these songs. They are that good. He was originally with the always cute G Dragon, in the boy band Big Bang, and even then he was great, now that he’s on his own for a little while lets him shine out a little more.

His videos are also something to smile and squeal at. His dance moves are a good on the eyes; I know I love watching them, I must confess that I downloaded a few of them.

When you see him there’s no denying that he’s like a Korean Usher of Chris Brown, with out the dram of both. Yes it sounds to good to be true but I’m telling you right now, YouTube his ass and you will be just as amazed and the Asian fan girls. In fact that’s your mission SLC girls Google, or YouTube him then write me back about him.

-Domioku

*Park Tea Yang’ s most recent album ‘Where U At’ came out October 15 of this year. Features ‘Where U At’ and ‘Prayer’*

This is…. Nobodyknows+ [10.18.08]

This is Nobodyknows+, the very band that sings Naruto: Shippudden‘s Hero’s Come Back; their names are HIDDEN FISH, Crystal Boy, Yasu Ichiban, Nori da Funky Shibire-sasu, and DJ MITSU, unfortunately we don’t which is which we’ll know one day, but for right now, we could care less as long as they continue to make those J-rap songs we J-pop fans love so much.

They sing more than just Hero’s Come Back, you should look them up and listen to the few other songs they do, they are one of the greatest so far heard.

Domioku’s Favorite Anime [10.18.08]

No it isn’t some cheesy romantic, comedy, school life bull, it’s an action packed, slightly romantic, old Japan martial arts anime. I gave it a 10 out 10, if that were my scale [it’s mostly done on a 5 scale].

Honestly I don’t know what draws me to this anime. For some odd reason [adult swim]’s Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit is way addicting. Maybe it’s the main characters; the strong never giver-upper Balsa [to the far left], the prince she protects, Moribito, the ninja trackers [men with swords to the lright] trying to kill her and the prince she protects. It’s really hard to tell with the intense story line and fighting scenes, seriously why would anyone want this as a favorite.

I don’t know why the whole Prince has a water spirit egg inside him, that the king calls a demon, sentencing him to death, forcing his wife, the queen, to pay Balsa to protect her youngest son, attracts me. The whole thing is addicting, sure it may seem a bit slow at first but the story is so well written with such amazing characters; I don’t know but it’s a must see. If you don’t see it your stupid and dumber than ya’ look. Why do you think it’s on? It was meant to be seen by the thousands. See it then tell me it isn’t a must see.

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit is currently my favorite because of its awesome story line, attractive characters, and even more amazing art.

MANGA SPOT: MERUPURI [10.3.08]

Sorry guys but unless your into romantic manga, or your gay, this isn’t for you. Due to a request we’ve been asked to present Merupuri as of first manga spot.

It’s a Romance. It’s a foreign boy prince, in Japan, boy prince claims girl seen on street holding the mirror of his magical world and girl slowly falls for him.

No it isn’t as boring as I wrote it. In fact I read all four volumes, a lot of eventful things happen in between the falling in love bit.

The non-local prince, Aram, comes out of a mirror, the girl, Airi, dropped while walking to school. When she goes back for it, she finds Aram holding it.

She thanks the boy prince and he becomes offended at eh way she thanks him, as if he were a small child.

She soon realizes what he is, and takes him, later his butler comes through the mirror for him, and Airi now has her hands full.

They become even fuller when Aram’s brother falls in love with her instantly, and tries to claim her too, but not before putting a spell on Aram, making things difficult for Airi. The spell causes Aram to age in the dark, in other words, any place with no light.

This spell make Airi heart race at the grown up Aram.

The thing has a simple, well kind of simple ending, I won’t spoil it, you have to read it.

It’s a mix of comedy, drama, and its obvious romance.

ANIME IS MORE THAN A CARTOON! [10.3.08]

Ever get mad or filled with rage the second someone calls anime simply an adult cartoon?

We have many times.

So the first story of Smells Like Cherries’ premiere is the difference between them. Starting with the fact that they are not merely for adults; there are many age appropriate ones, for fans under the age of four teen and ten. For example Prince of Tennis is for all ages, If it were rated by ESRB, the company that rates the games, it would give it an E for everyone. Even this age restricted-less anime is not considered a cartoon.

Another thing most people use to associate Anime with cartoons is the fact that they are drawn and animated. The well known following are drawn and animated but aren’t anime: The Simpsons; Family Guy; American Dad, and every show done in the same manner.

Anime is defined by its origin; Japan. Anime is short for animation, but in their Japanese form of saying animation.

It isn’t just a genre of a television show, it’s actually a little culture too; just as a group of Buddhists would walk around showing there ways to others. Anime is the same it shows us what Japan can do.

Cartoon = America

Anime = Japan.

Don’t mix them up.
