Though we know good and well she’s not well known we decided to ask her some questions. We sat down, better yet emailed the questions, since we really couldn’t’ sit down with her—but her answers were just so pure it felt as if we were face to face. If you don’t feel like reading the interview you can always listen to it, she answered our question via webcam, though she didn’t show her face. [We did cut some things out, for all and no paraphrasing watch the videos.]
Q] What got you started?
A] What got me started… besides friendly encouragement? I can’t really say, but if I had to put in words at least understandable to man, it’s be anime [We wanted to interrupt, but she elaborated on her own]. I think hearing one of the shows ending them—yes it was Trigun’s ‘Sound R.E.M.’ I tried to sing the song and I was horrible, but then again the song was full of high notes and I didn't have very good range then. From there in moved into the J-Pop realm entirely starting with Crystal Kay, then BoA, and now I have a hefty collection. After j-Pop I was introduced to the Chinese version of pop, and just recently I’ve tapped into the K-Pop universe.
Q] What do you think of music today in that genre, and would you sing any of it?
A] What do I think of music today—I don’t. It’s gone in such a direction I don’t think I could ever like or want to sing it. It’s become so vulgar, and degrading it’s not ignorable anymore. I used to try and block out the lyrics so that I could enjoy the beats in the background but I can’t even do that. I almost—no I’m pretty sure I hate it. I wish that we could go back to when it wasn’t about gettin’ some, or somebody, and not about how much junk you can buy/get. Musicians in the Pop, Rap, and R&B genre should go sit down and listen to the classics so they can either become similar—not the same similar, or better. I think before 2003 or so music was fine, it wasn’t that bad. Now the industry thrives on the ‘sex sells’ approach when it may for some, but not for most. Everything’s just changed so much and I don’t know what to do about it. All I can do is rant and hope it changes or wait till I’m discovered and change it myself, not that that’s my top priority; I don’t mind being just the way I am un-famous.
Q] Do you ever plan to show your face [This answer wasn’t done via webcam but through email]?
A] To be honest I want to, but there are circumstances that prevent that from happening, and I’m also scared of what might happen if I were to show my face. Maybe in the near future I’ll do it, but for right I have no immediate plans to show it. Gomene minna, but I will remain a secret for now.
TAF also wanted to say “Thank you for all the channel and video views it makes me feel better that I didn’t give in to peer pressure for no reason. To the fans Saranghae, I really due.”
Thank you TAF for mentioning us in your videos in fact we should make a deal, you mention us, and we’ll mention you.
